this one's just for you! Raphael and Christoph are sad to announce that the German forces have been heavily decimated in the European Cup competitions, with only Bayern and Bayer going through to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and the Europa League, respectively.
It's easy to blame the refs with some dubious VAR penalty calls against Freiburg and Dortmund, for example, but we don't buy into conspiracy theories, we would just like for there to be more consistency on what constitutes a punishable offense when the hand of a defender touches the ball.

Raphael and Christoph take a look back at the two German sides that competed in the Champions League round of 16 this week. Borussia Dortmund sadly couldn't get past FC Chelsea, partly because they were without keeper Kobel and Julian Brandt had to leave the game five minutes in because of injury. In the end that meant that Chelsea outlasted Dortmund and deservedly went through to the quarterfinals.
Bayern München also deserved their spot in the round of 8 by holding off PSG who, despite having the superstars on their side, couldn't overcome the injuries to their defenders....
