The first round is the place for amateur clubs who made it through their regional qualification rounds, to take on clubs from the first and second Bundesliga at their home grounds, because the team from a lower league will always get home advantage in the DFB-Pokal.

Then we have to cover Bayern's transfer woes, with them still trying to sign Harry Kane as their Lewandowski-replacement at the time of our recording, as well as a goalie who is better than Yann Sommer but still willing to take a step back, when Manuel Neuer returns. That's a hard sell going into negotiations with interesting goalkeepers.
