Episode 37: Bayern And BVB Still Close

Show notes

Both losing sides will have a lot on their plates this upcoming offseason. While Schalke might face relegation, Gladbach needs to restructure their squad and have to ask themselves whether coach Daniel Farke and director Roland Virkus are the ones to lead the change. The race for the Champions League qualification saw Union Berlin beat SC Freiburg to take fourth place and Leipzig cement third place by beating Bremen on Sunday. One of the feelgood stories of the week is Union captain Christopher Trimmel who got his 300th cap and standing ovations at Alte Försterei, whereas Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner didn't get a standing ovation but rather got his walking papers for after the DFB-Pokal finals match, after losing the power struggle with club director Markus Krösche. Meanwhile the other Berlin club, Hertha BSC are in deep financial trouble at the bottom of the table, where Christoph's VfL Bochum leapt out of the relegation spots by beating Augsburg away.
